About
The solo artist from Heidelberg launched a solo project with singing, guitar, loop station and beatbox in 2017 by combining the genres of folk and reggae with electronic elements and jazz influences.
The lyrics reflect experiences and ideas of nature, freedom, movement and feelings, the melodies oscillate between melancholy dreaming and pleasant danceable. His style seamlessly blends the narrative structure of a song with the compelling forward movement of electronic rhythms. Guitar chords merge into synthetic pad sounds, hypnotic bass vibrations meet emotional vocal parts, passionate physicality meets sublime stimulation for the mind.
Juli Kwadwo is distinguished by the use of its loop station. If you know and love artists like DubFX, Mc Xander, Tash Sultana or FKJ, you've come to the right place. Further inspirations are musicians from Leonnard Cohen and Passenger to Monolink.
What began with a lot of acoustic elements at living room concerts, open mic events and small gigs and in bars and cafés quickly developed into a successful project with more electronic influences and regular concerts at larger venues all over Germany.
In winter 2019 Juli Kwadwo will release his debut album "Finding Kwadwo".
